Melancholy. Surreal. Glorious.

I always love your Hindi compositions more than your English ones, perhaps cz of my inability to express in that wonderful language as wonderfully as you do. Or perhaps bcz the language has a strangely charming way to establish an incongruous coherence with anyone who cares enough to take it in.

One of my favorite pieces from you Anshul. Loved it.

How beautiful is this thought. Oddly comforting. The kind of comfort solitude offers you sometimes.

Wonderful.

Aur koi wapas aa gaya...deewaron ke jo sirf ab tak kaan hote the-aaj jaise jaan aa gaye...

Har safar aasan nahi hota...har woh cheez jise hum dil se laga ke rakhte hain, har baar dil ko sukoon nahi dete...har jaana, hamehsa ke liye nahi hota...

Har baar jab hum se koi shikaayat karta hain, to us mein zaroori nahi ki ranjish hote hain-deewaren bhi isse tarah hain aur aap ko baar baar wapas bulane waale bhi...

Jab kisse cheez ki aadat ho to thode der gile shikve hone bhi chahiye:-)

Welcome back wanderer...it's time you feel at home again:-)

I don't know if to categorize this bondage with our surroundings as our strength or our weakness. So many a times I just look upon it blankly.
We see our people going away and we wish to have them back but what happens during this interval of time when inside we try to run away from these surroundings only.
Nothing is lively and nothing is dead, its all in the heart of a man who brings walls to life and homes to love.
Loved the piece just sometimes I really prefer silence.

Lines above resonates with what Samuel Butler says so often that- "An empty house is like a stray dog or a body from which life has departed.".... brilliant expressions as ever :)

There's a vast difference when we say "Its a house" & "Its a home".

This place (walls of this home) has lightened up again with thoughts :)

dil ko chhoo lene waale shabd hain yeh.. ghar ke dil ko bhi aur hamare dil ko bhi..

i think you are so right.. a home breathes when people are staying in it, and ceases to live when its empty.

Kuch hurting sa bhi laga.. I dont know why.. kind of rang a bell in my heart.. can't place it though.

A home is just not another shelter, it is the abode of our very existence, a place we belong to, can rightfully call as ours. Of course it's we who give it life. Beautiful lines; as always, your writing in Hindi is simply breathtaking. :)

Welcome back! :D

Dear Blasphemous Asthete ,

Although I do not comment here often I love reading your post. This post just blew me off. Perhaps for apparent reasons. Brought up by parents one of whom was an expat and being an Expat not myself.

I remember my father going through years of agony portrayed in this post where the calling of home and reposisbilities of home or professional ambitions present paradoxical choices.

The post hit me right of the bat since I am in that exact position right now. Although I have not been away for too long the urge to go back to a place, I once swore never to go back to, and a life thats torn between two shores with loved ones beaconing from the other is indeed emotionally straneous. As I understand you had some expat stints yourself.

But kudos to the post. Shared it with all my expat friends. I hope you would not mind.
