First signs of withdrawal: Boredom!

If no one knew anybody, or if everybody knew everybody, then I believe, no one would have to eat alone tonight.

Nor would anyone need to search for a face in the crowd. I somehow feel strongly that the first case might work out much better than the second one.

I've walked the distance, I paid my dues and tried to have a go at what I thought I knew was real,
held no appeal.
I've been to places, I've seen the tidings,
I bought a book of rules for every coin that I could steal
And so I came to gaze upon the stars, when they were yet unborn
And consequently, tear at my old scars, and the mask I had outworn

~Roses (Poets of the fall)

Of late, I've grown weary and bored. Of listening, and talking, and listening, and talking still. I want to slow down a bit, get off the train, and walk some distance on the two parallel tracks, barefoot. I want to sit on a bench and watch the world go by, doing what it does everyday, running.
I want to lie down and watch the stars run on their routine course throughout the night and wish, that tomorrow they start from the west. I wish to unlearn what I have learnt, and learn all over again. I wish to read literature and learn to write, again. And I just don't wish to wish anymore.

I've heard the rumors, started fires, I sowed a sordid lot of plays for keeps for what I need,
behold the demons that I freed.
I've tried my best at wearing the hard hat, but healing doesn't seem to happen when you hide away the seed
And so I came across the medicine man, and he showed me what I'd forlorn
For if I'm stayed it happens by my own hand, and my own voice full of scorn.
~Roses

What did I just write? Nothing that was mine. I'm just breaking off from the yardstick straight line and headed out for a while. I have been bored for too long. Nothing happens, now might.

I would love to live life free of routine or mundane. But how long will that last I want to know. :P

The word 'SABBATICAL' itself is very attractive :)

Would it sound vain if I say that I knew this was coming-your longer than usual absence from everywhere from a while was an indication:-)

Happy self searching and may you achieve what you feel is missing, though it is a vicious circle of attainment and yearning again...
It's better to live around it than go beyond:-)

Little breaks don't hamper anyone:-)

Great post Anshul. Sometimes we need a little time to spend with our-self on a tranquil journey. It might help to discover so many unknown things and gives a clear state of mind.

Cheers,

The template of the blog perfectly matches the mood of the post!!

Sometimes one just wants to stay and let life go by! Enjoy the scene as a spectator and not as a performer!

Disillusionment is something everyone faces at almost every stage of life. You're not alone in this quest too.

Everyone needs to stop and smell the roses, eh? Nice read. :D

And for most of the population, this happens after retirement. But , as you did, to stop by the woods for a moment or two always gave enough refreshment to cover the rest of the miles !

Anshul, I would call it the 'W. H. Davies' complex' - of having no time to stand and stare.. I guess you are doing just that. I know the feeling.. sometimes.. in fact many times.. I find myself walking walking on the roads.. every step a deliberation, a hesitating gingerly put step, step after step, as I walk walk walk.. to God knows where.. until I realize it's getting dark and its time to go home... the deliberation is actually another form of introspection .. with questions like "Where is my life headed?" poking into your conscience and making you feel lost, lonely and abandoned.
I need another walk. It's too late.

Take a break. Spend time with your inner self. Treat yourself well, you'll be rejuvenated.

Seeking solace in night sky is the best part, which I always want too. Of course with less caring of tomorrow, just the present, as I want, no obligations.

Very nice!! =)

Thoughtful post...sometimes the comfort that the night and solitude provides is much more than a break for a while gives!

Beautifully put forth!

At a point, we all go through this. The daily routings. and how everything gets so monotonous!
Change is required after a point.
And how I wish, I could just lie under the moonlight, and not bother with all is happening around me! :)

Love the layout picture!
Take Care :)

Change is always in trend,
you just need a break my friend...

Not a long disconnection from daily schedule, just utilize your free time effectively and it will surely work.

I read somewhere "when you are tired, your brain politely and quitely tells you to take a break, if you ignore the message, it becomes more aggressive and starts displaying negative thoughts to get your attention"

Take care :)
Have a nice day !

A break never huts anyone unless its physical or mental.....so do what you have to do and come back rejuvenated...a lot of blog posts are copy paste variety so quoting someone doesn't make it unoriginal...you can think of it as my favourite quotes kind of post.
good luck, take care...we won't be going away anytime soon.

I don't know if you are still in that phase.
I felt this way very strongly and what I did was terminated contact with everyone. No social networking, phone, etc.
It worked so well because I would roam around on bus stations, streets, spend time in the cafe, and all that.
Let go of everyone, all communication and something might happen. :-)
